Wishing to offer the peoples of the world a permanent symphony born of the vibrations of the earth’s magma, the true pulse of the living planet, Jacques Rougerie created this project in 1986, which he wanted to install in Tokyo Bay, Japan.
Two large blades frozen in the seabed at a depth of 30 metres and rising 200 metres like an immense diapason were supposed to translate these telluric vibrations into a random digital musical phrase, thus creating the Symphony of the Earth.
This was then transmitted to the whole planet via a satellite placed in an orbit passing over Japan every time the sun rose, picking up the symphony of the day as it passed.
