Located at the entrance of Opunohu Bay, the Te Fare Natura eco-museum is a showcase for the richness of Polynesian culture and biodiversity.

Its bio-inspired, bio-climatic architecture borrows its vocabulary of living forms from the Polynesian marine and plant world. Its protective, light and enveloping shell is based on the concept of interaction and fusion between land and sea, expressing through its architectural form the double symbolism of the traveller’s tree and the shell.

Dedicated to the discovery and knowledge of biodiversity, its ambition is to contribute to the sharing of knowledge, to the awareness of the fragility of Polynesian terrestrial, marine and underwater ecosystems and to the need to protect them for future generations.
