In the beautiful countryside of Aix, the Château La Coste estate produces wine: its landscape is sculpted by the vine and by the age-old work of attentive winegrowers. The great landscape is revealed from the slopes, with full or framed views of the Luberon massif and the hill of La Cride.

Under the impetus of the new owner, the Château La Coste estate has embarked on an ambitious reconversion by installing, off the vines and in the heart of the pine forest, works of contemporary art designed and created by internationally renowned architects and artists, including Jean Nouvel, Tadao Ando, Frank Gehry, Richard Serra, Andy Goldsworthy, and Louise Bourgeois…

The subtlety and finesse of the estate’s landscaping reveal the poetry of a unique journey through the landscape, a pathway to art that winds between the trees, revealing gentle, shaded slopes, conducive to strolling and emotion. Care has been taken to manage rainwater.

In the hillside, storm water basins have been built, the water is retained by dry stone tancats, inspired by Roman structures, and then it circulates in a network of ditches upstream of the vineyard to preserve the soil.

Such an estate, divided between the cultivation of the land and the cultivation of the spirit, deserves exceptional treatment.
